Hosted Data Sheets enables your solution to offer enriched product information, you can take advantage of HDS technology and make your catalogs contain dynamic links to technical data using any of the following approaches :

  • Create html links on your website to link directly to an html formatted data sheet held on the HSD server.
This is an extremely simple way to include data sheets into your website. By simply modifying the html of your site, as per figure 1.0, you can use the HDS service.

  • Write some simple server side script to make a request to the HDS server which will return a data sheet for you to include within your website.
This is also a very simlpe way for you to include data sheets wherever you like in your website. By writing simple server side script, as per figure 1.1, you can place the data sheet literally inside the html of your website.

  • Write your own program to request the raw xml from the HDS server and have the flexibility to format, and use, the xml how you desire.
HDS provides the flexibility now demanded by many customers, figure 1.2 is an example of code that links to the raw xml, validates it against the schema on the HDS server, and then formats it against the xslt style sheet on the HDS server.
